Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Authors are aware and promise in good faith to pay the Article Processing Charge or APC ($200 for undergraduate student submissions, and $300 for graduate student submissions), which will be charged only after the manuscript is accepted by the reviewers/editors for publication and a decision is emailed. Failure to pay without a follow-up email within 1-week after the editorial decision was communicated to the authors, the submission will be archived.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). Despite the Plagiarism check that we do, if later there are any complaints about plagiarism with proof, the submission will immediately be removed.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or WordPerfect document file format. The text is double-spaced; uses Times New Roman 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines and Bibliographic & Formatting Standards.
  • Documentation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval or exemption, if required, was secured by the authors prior to submitting the manuscript. The primary author and co-authors have agreed to submit to the Journal of Student Research by consulting and mutually consenting to do so, and agree to the Terms of Use of this journal.
